THURMOND MUSIC

Ziad is a pianist, violinist, and violist with a passion for writing and arranging music. In his 20 years of being a musician, he developed a love for soundtracks especially from video games and film. Ziad founded the Video Game Orchestra at UC Davis and regularly plays in pops and anime orchestras throughout southern California. In his spare time you can find Ziad arranging music for solos or ensembles and attending orchestra and jazz band concerts.

 

Ziad likes to incorporate all parts of music education like ear training, sight-reading, and improvisation into his teaching so that his students can learn to become a well-rounded musician, not just how to move their muscles to play their instruments. It's important to Ziad that his students are able to express their unique identity through music and are given the necessary tools to be able to do so.
