THURMOND MUSIC

Daniel Hernandez started playing clarinet at the age of eleven. He has roots in the El Sistema programs Youth Orchestra of Salinas and Youth Music Monterey, where he began studying privately under the mentorship of Erica Horn.

 

Daniel recently obtained a B.M. in Clarinet Performance from the Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) School of Music, where he studied under the direct mentorship of Burt Hara (associate principal clarinet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic). 

 

Since 2016, Daniel has worked and performed professionally in the Monterey County area. As a music educator, Daniel has led clarinet sectionals in Orange County at the high school level. He enjoys teaching students of varying levels and backgrounds.
